Dinner guests of the Broadway Grill were treated to quite the show Wednesday night, as local nonprofit Rise n’ Shine took over the restaurant for the 12th annual Big Bail Out. The guilty were thrown in “jail” to raise bail to help send children affected by HIV/AIDS to summer camp. Greeted at the front door by “deputies”, handcuffed, and brought before Judge Rick North, these community outlaws were sentenced to collect a bail of $450.

The “Feline Fighters” of Purr with their fearless leader Barbie Humphrey are once again expected to be the highest fund-raisers of the evening. They dumped over $4,000 on Sheriff Michael Dunlop’s desk before they sallied up to the bar to celebrate their release. Close behind was Lizzie Parker’s Stilettos & Spurs who are brawling for second place against Team Guilty by Association. The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Northwest Bears, and AM1090 were also top teams contributing to the expected total of over $22,000. All “bail” raised helps fund Rise n’ Shine’s annual summer camp.

The Broadway Grill servers, patrons, managers and their incredible owner Debbie Augustavo once again took pity on the inmates and served up some mighty fine grits. Hats (Cowboy) off to the community for their strong support.

Rise n’ Shine is a local nonprofit organization providing support to area children and teens affected by HIV/AIDS. Rise n’ Shine also offers year round support groups and a mentor program.
