Celebrate Black History Month at Emma Jeans!

IN CELBRATION OF BLACK HISTORY MONTH

EMMA JEANS CONSIGNMENTS & ANTIQUE’S WILL HAVE ALL ITEMS ON DISCOUNT!

In honor of Black History Month Thomas A. Grants, proprietor of Emma Jeans Consignment and Antiques in Seattle’s Greenwood neighborhood is displaying for the first time some items from his private collection of Black History and Black Americana.

These items are selected from an extensive collection of photographs, books, and collectibles. They will be displayed in the store (which is named after Thomas’s mother Emma Jean) at 8454 ½ Greenwood Ave N. Items include, original photos of Emma Jean’s family dating back to the early 1920’s. Her husbands all Black Infantry during the Korean War, items for the Seattle Chicken Coon Restaurant, books include Plantation Melodies, Little Black Sambo and original theatre promotional posters and programs, vinyl and furnishings.

Thomas invites you to visit the store and participate in this rare opportunity to view these selected items from his Black History and Black Americana collection which will eventually be donated to a museum. His hope is that by putting these items on display, members of the Seattle community will have a deep understanding of the richness and trials of his ancestry and be a means of education for younger generations.
