Health Care Access for All

At our most recent board meeting, GSBA adopted an important platform aimed at granting better access to health care.

We understand that GSBA has a very diverse membership base and that there may not be agreement from all members on the specifics of achieving affordable health care for small business. However, as a business chamber, we feel it is important to be at the table during this important debate and as a result, the following platform has been adopted that will help us participate more fully in the national discussion.

GSBA recognizes that:

• Access to affordable effective Healthcare is vital to individual, family and small business well-being
• The opinion/experience of small business owners/employees is important and must be part of the discussion
• The LGBT community has historically been challenged by access to healthcare via the traditional employer-
• sponsored health plans. Reform efforts should address this

GSBA will represent both our members and the LGBT community through membership in the Small Business for Secure Health Care Coalition.
