“Travel Seattle.” This is the headline you’ll be hearing a lot about in the coming months and for Seattle, it means a boon for the area’s economy. GSBA and the City of Seattle have teamed up to promote and foster LGBT travel opportunities for our city and region.
In May, GSBA received a $15,000 grant from Seattle’s Office of Economic Development in support of our LGBT Neighborhood Tourism Initiative, targeting Downtown, Capitol Hill and West Seattle.
We have also formed the first LGBT travel and tourism steering committee along with Seattle’s Convention and Visitors Bureau (SCVB). Members include Alaska Airlines (a GSBA travel partner), Holland America and the Space Needle along with representatives from GSBA member hotels, restaurants, retail outlets and other venues, all with a common goal to make Seattle one of the top LGBT tourism destinations in the U.S.
