GSBA, BNY Mellon and
Tacoma Art Museum invite you to take the afternoon off to enjoy a private wine
reception and guided tour of the critically acclaimed HIDE/SEEK: Difference and Desire
in American Portraiture exhibit at the Tacoma Art Museum.
Tacoma is HIDE/SEEK's
final stop and its only West Coast destination. Featuring an
unprecedented survey of nearly 150 years of American art, these iconic works
explored the definition of sexuality and gender as they continually reshaped
modern art and reflected society's changing attitudes about the individual's
pursuit of happiness and freedom of expression. Thomas Eakins, John Singer
Sargent, Georgia O'Keefe, Andy Warhol, and Jasper Johns are among the many
artists whose work is represented. More information and reviews of
HIDE/SEEK can be found on the Tacoma Art Museum's website.
This event will take
place at the Tacoma Art Museum (located at 1701 Pacific Avenue) on Wednesday,
May 9. A reception with appetizers and wine will be held at 2:00pm and
guests will get to hear more about HIDE/SEEK from a docent then you will have
the option to join a complimentary docent led tour.
